Principal: Mrs. Sarah Cainion

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2020-21 school year! We began this school year amidst unprecedented times as a community, state, and nation. While it is impossible to predict and plan for every possible scenario during the COVID-19 pandemic, our district and school leadership teams have been working arduously the last few months to plan and prepare an environment designed to meet the diverse needs of all students.  My vision, as the principal, is to ALWAYS put students first! As we have witnessed since March, information, data and decisions frequently change based on what is occurring with COVID-19 and other impacting factors, but we will do our best to keep you informed every step of the way.

For those families returning to Swint, we sincerely thank you for your support, patience, and flexibility during our remote learning experience. Education is a joint venture and we greatly appreciate the support you continue to provide for your children at home to ensure they meet their learning goals. We know that a strong home-school partnership is critical to the success of our students and this year, that begins with your support of our remote learning model. In a collaborative effort, we want children to thrive in all ways possible. Through remote or face-to- face learning, we work hard to ensure our students will LOVE school and flourish in a learning environment that is positive, safe, warm, fun and caring. Our teachers are very excited to resume the role of primary instructor through live lessons in our revamped remote learning format.

At Swint, we value teamwork and collaboration! To streamline communication, all teachers will be using the apps “Class Dojo” or “Remind” to communicate with you this school year. Please download if you do not already have it. Teachers and administrators will hold virtual “Parent Chats” throughout the school year to gain needed input to move our school forward. This will also be an opportunity to collaborate with your child’s teacher related to academic and social expectations. We ask that you visit the district and school’s website frequently to gather valuable updates and reminders.

Thank you in advance for your support, patience, and flexibility as we embark on our new venture. We are eager to learn and grow with you as we build a strong foundation of success with our school community. We look forward to working closely with you to ensure our students are prepared to compete in a global society.

Sincerely,

Sarah Cainion
